How Old is 'Too Old' to Party?

As a 27 year old single girl, I spend most of my time going out with my friends. And when I say 'going out,' what I really mean is partying.

Recently, I went to a bar one night, and almost everyone was in college. I've never felt so old! So of course, my girlfriends and I totally lied and told everyone we were 21, which is pretty believable. And let me tell you, I haven't had that much fun since... well, since I was 21. But I couldn't help but wonder, am I too old to be doing this? How old is 'Too old' to party?

While some people may say yes, I am too old to party, I disagree! You are only young once. Go out and party while you still can. And who cares if you have work the next day. Who cares if you're tired. You can sleep it off when you're 40. I say, if you're not settled down yet, then you have every right to go out and party your pants off. Because once you're married, trust me, the party's over!

So you go out there and party your pants off. And don't forget to invite me!

Cosmo's anyone?

I'm also a 27 year old and 'back in the day', I loved to party. These days, I love good restaurants or a nice dinner at home. Boy, things have changed!

You know how grumpy babies get when they haven't had enough sleep? That's me if I'm out and about after 1130 at night. Doesn't matter how well you're dressed or where you are, a 27 year old having a tantrum because she's tried just isn't cool!

Jen, if you love partying, do it! Life is short, embrace it and just have fun! When you're married with children, the only parties you'll be attending will involve clowns and jello!!

Meh, you're never too old to party. I mean, as long as you can pull it off...there's really no biggie It's just that as you get older, you may have to party in a different way, lol! :)

Party hard!

I have thought about this very thing. I think once you get dirty looks when you walk in, thats when you should hang up your hat.

Ohh 27 is definitely NOT too old to party! Have all the fun you want for as long as you want to have it.. that's what I say!

I'm going to have to agree with Jen.

It may take me a little longer to recoup afterwards but I'm all about the party. This past Saturday as I walked to my car, with the sun coming up - I looked back at my friends house (7 yrs younger than me btw)and thought back to the night's party events...I thought, 'damn, I still got it'. 9 to 5 baby...

Rock on Jen!

Partying only gets better as you get older. Because, did you seriously have as much when you were 21 and barely able to keep your alcohol down?

Party it up girl! Thanks for the advice BTW. I am REALLY seriously thinking about moving. I'm going to try and save money first. So, keep in touch and save a cosmo for me when I get to Hollywood!

How old is too old to party? I say never!

Well, unless you are bringing your baby to the bar, then you may be past the cutoff line. Or if you are throwing your bad hip out while doing keg stands, it may be time to retire the lampshade hat.

But until then...I say shake what your mama gave you!

(And yeah, I already left this same comment on Brazen. Congrats again on the front page recognition!)

I definitely don't party as much, but I still enjoy a good party every once in awhile. I don't think the party has to end when you're married either. The only difference is you have to roshambo for who is the designated driver!!

I'm 35 and married and we still partying. Granted, I don't recover nearly like I used to and I still am not able to sleep it off. My husband and I have ONE night a week that we reserve for just him and I time together. The rest of the time we are out.

However, if you think you feel old around college kids, that's nothing to how old I feel around them.

I always say, "you only live once, might as well LIVE."

Survey says... keep partying!!! :)

you're never told old to party (apparently), just ask my 50-year-old mother who I spent last Friday night partying with at a club.

This reminds me of an episode of How I Met Your Mother, when Ted says to Marshall:

"Come on man, if you go and get so drunk you throw up once you're married, it'll be sad. But if you do it tonight... it'll be less sad."

Also, when we first went out when I moved back to my hometown after finishing University, my friends and I couldn't help but notice how young everyone looked, haha.
