Who's The Boss

Office romances either mean one of two things: either the couple gets married, or the relationship will end in complete disaster.

A former boss of mine recently got engaged... to our co-worker! Last year is when they started secretly dating. And one day my boss and I went out to lunch, and she told me, "I'm going to marry him, he's the one." I quickly responded "How the hell do you know?" "I just know," she said.

But after telling my friends the story, I laughed out loud when they asked me if there's any potential to meet someone through my job (I work for Martha Stewart, so what do you think). I was complaining about how I have no way of meeting someone because I don't really go out anymore. And I work with women. LOTS. OF. WOMEN. It's like a professional sorority in heels.

And yes, I once actually dated one of my co-workers. And yes, it ended in complete disaster. So would I date another co-worker, even if there was one to date? Probably not.

In fact, a recent survey discovered that 67 percent of single Americans have engaged in an office romance at some point in their careers, while nearly 75 percent admit to having had a crush on a co-worker. Have YOU ever hooked up with a coworker or, er, the big boss?

Hi
I just started to read your blogg! its very funny!
but yes I have hooked up with a coworker and the worst thing is when you break up with him! boys are like babys, the word no is like she is playing hard to get and when the find out its not they stop speaking to you and ignore you. It is very hard to work like that so I say girl dating a coworker is a no no!

I have luckily avoided dating a coworker. Ironically I work in the exact opposite environment as you-all men. I work for an IT company, so it's all dorky guys. There is one coworker who I've shared the occasional flirt with in the past, but he and I agree on office romance-" You don't dip your pen in the company ink." Way way, way too messy. But that doesn't stop coworkers from setting you up with their friends!

I work in fashion. The only men I see on a daily basis are not interested in girls.

I learned my lesson about office romances when I worked at Blockbuster in college and dated the assistant manager. My poor little heart was broken when he started dating another lowly customer service rep.

P.S. I love your blog! I can't believe I just discovered it, but I added you to my blogroll so I can keep up with it!
