This was officially my last weekend here in NYC. My last couple of days have been sort of a blur; packing, finishing up all of my screenplays, and trying to see all of my friends and family before I leave. I haven't even been sleeping. Like, at all. And of course since I haven't been sleeping, I'm run down and now I'm sick as a dog with a lousy ear infection. Which is absolutely lovely for flying six hours across the country.
Although I've never been so excited, I'm a little sad. I'm going to be leaving all of my friends. My crazy family. My two dogs. I'm leaving behind my life that is a sitcom waiting to happen. And these last couple of days have really proved that theory to be true. If you put all of my friends in the same room, it only proves to be disaster each and every time. You see, I have a bunch of different groups of friends. Most of which wanted to plan me a "Surprise" going away party. But then decided "Eh, the hell with it." It was too much trouble. They knew that nobody gets along with one another. And they had no idea who to invite. The funny thing is, they actually told me! But I didn't care. It was a nice gesture. And so I figured I was off the hook and had the night all to myself to pack.
That was until friends of mine kept calling me and saying that they will see me later. What ever were they talking about? Hmm, maybe there was a surprise party planned after all!
And so it was. So of course there was drama, there was fights, and there was a ton of laughs. But most importantly it was a grand ol' time. Some of my friends even thanked me for going away, because now at least they will never have to see each other again for the time being. Some of my friends think they will never see me again. And some think that I will be back in a couple months. But whatever the outcome, it surely is an adventure I will never forget.
So now it's time to say goodbye. It's time to embark on a new adventure. The last chapter in my life has closed, and a new one is beginning. So as I sit here in my room on my last night living at home, I look around taking it all in. Because tomorrow is when my book begins, and the rest is still unwritten...

Well even though all of your friends don't get along, at least they came together for that one night, and it wasn't a disaster. Moving across the country sounds exciting and scary at the same time, but it'll be great :)
Remeber everyone will miss you !!!! Your a SPECIAL person ...
Good Luck But NY will always be your roots and home.
xxxooo
I am SPECIAL. Thanks, mom!
Good Luck in Cali! I look forward to reading about your adventures!
Thanks hun! I look forward to writing about them :)
Good Luck...I think we're all waiting for the next blog.
You're not allowed to steal the title of my blog in the final sentence of your farewell speech!
But, I'll forgive. NY on the other hand does not forgive you and is weeping tonight. I hope plastic town is worth it because you made The Statue of Liberty very sad.
Seriously though, I'm proud of you for taking the plunge, like a big cannonball into the water. It takes some guts to just pick up and move across the country like that. Best of luck to you...but I don't think you'll need it. You'll do fine. :)
Thanks :) I hope so. And I didn't steal the title of your blog. I stole the chorus of the Natasha Beddingfield song. Also the theme song of "The Hills." So, ha!
Liar, liar. Pants on fire.
Hello :)
I'm a new follower, thanks to Senor David above. Good luck with your new adventures in Cali! It pays off to follow your dreams, even if the path there is uncertain... I live it everyday (the topic of my blog).
Cheers ~ J
