Why do girls who have boyfriends feel the need to tell them to stop talking to ex girlfriends or even girl friends?
This is the second time this has happened to me with in the past year! First, my best guy friend stopped talking to me as soon as he got serious with his girlfriend. I still don’t even really know why. We never dated. Never hooked up. Never had any romantic connection what so ever. And he always lied to his girlfriend whenever we hung out.
And now my other best guy friend, who I actually once dated in the past when we were teenagers but is now my best friend, has to stop talking to me because his girlfriend doesn’t think it’s right for him to still talk to his ex’s.
Um, hello - We were teenagers. That shouldn’t even count!
And this is yet another reason why I really don’t mind being single!

Amen to that one!!! I so hear you. And ha, I just watched GG and this whole ex's problem was on my mind...I don't have a problem with that, but one of my friends is one big hell of a new girlfriend and wants her guy to stop talking to all his ex's...oh boy!!! I'm so glad I'm single! ;)
I have an ex who is one of my best friends too.
I figure any woman who can't deal with it can just get lost. (That's chapter 4 in my upcoming book "How to Stay Unmarried Into Your 30s.")
Yeah, it's definitely a weird situation for some people. This December's Men's Health issue actually has a thorough and good article about this exact subject. Maybe you should give it a read. There should be no reason guys and girls can be platonic friends. Maybe send your besties a copy of the magazine for Christmas
After I divorced my first wife, I found out that she had been telling all my female friends that I didn't like them. I was so pissed when I found out. If she only knew how many I turned down.
If I have a girlfriend and I have girl buddies I'd consider having a relationship or sleeping with then it's only appropriate to not hang out with them. I wouldn't be talking to them even just to chit chat out of respect to my girlfriend.
