I've had a friend break up with his first major gf only to get back together and instantly marry. Then get pregnant. Then move to Michigan.

Marriage is looked at as a casual encounter these days. I expect plenty of good people I know to marry only to divorce. The only thing that irks me is that it trivializes the institution of marriage for people who really mean, "I do".

Oh number three...This reason, often named is movies (He's Just Not that Into You), is heard so often its disgusting. Everyone agrees its stupid but, yet, of all of the reasons you've listed, its the only reason that I hear on a recurring basis. I feel like if people have issues with the monotony of dating to such a degree that they need to take the next step to liven things up a bit (in this case marriage), they should examine the relationship in the first place. There are other ways to spice up a cold romance. Role playing, puppy, whatever. I just cannot comprehend how one would trade a dull dating life for a dull married life. People's flaws don't get better with marriage. They become more pronounced. That isn't to say I disagree with marriage. I think its wonderful and would love to be married one day and when that day comes, it surely won't come because I need to "take the next step" or liven up my stale relationship with some Tom.

These are such silly reasons, Only reason you should get married is because you love the person and want to spend the rest of your life waking up next to them. :) "All my friends are getting married,I'm just getting drunk!" Ha. That's a great thing!
